It’s a funny old morning, it is quite cold and there is a bit of mist and fog in the air. As yet we have had no rain, although it is forecast to hit us later on today. I think this week is going to be a lot better than it has been lately. Let’s hope that all the people that have been flooded and without electricity, can start to rebuild their lives once again. We continue the normal winter exercise with daily cantering. We will be stepping up to faster exercise in March. Let’s hope the ground has dried out by then and is suitable to get on the grass.

Very little happened over the weekend of any great interest. Our foals on the ground continue to do well and we have a couple of mares overdue, who are not looking like producing any time soon.

The greatest excitement at the weekend was the FA cup quarter final draw, which picked Sheffield Utd to play the owls, if they get through their postponed tie due to a waterlogged pitch. It looks like we will be in the semi finals of the cup.
