Another dry, dusty morning and the saga of no rain continues; it is becoming like a soap opera, this weather forecasting. The heath staff are doing an unbelievable job watering the walking grounds, or else it would be like a herd of buffalo coming across the plains: the dust would be seen for miles.Thank goodness for the watered gallop, which is still holding up well.

All the jockeys were in this morning, Darryll, Pat, Liam and Simon Pearce, plus our normal Colin and Ashley, etc. Some very good work this morning with plenty of enthusiastic owners out to watch and all went well. I cannot wait to get them all out onto the track.

Akula (Ashley) and Red Barcelona (Liam)

A good day yesterday at Yarmouth with Piccarello running a very sound race and Watch Chain being given a great ride by Darryll. He has always promised to win a race as easily as this but he needs things to fall into place and a jockey with confidence and a brain, which we got yesterday.

Two more runners today at Yarmouth. Princess Izzy runs in the first, which looks a trappy affair with a couple of interesting newcomers, a couple that have shown promise and don't rule out Barney Curley's either. It may be a day for putting her in the forecast with a few of them. Astrodonna runs later on the 3.45 pm; she has run well here before and if getting a little bit of luck in running must have a chance today.
