A Healthy Exercise

Tuesday, 03 June 2014

"One must be fond of people and trust them if one is not to make a mess of life."

E.M. Forster.

It’s a similar morning to yesterday, with a mixture of sunshine and showers and I think we had a bit of rain overnight. At least it is keeping the grass growing well on the stud and the foals have not got it too firm under foot. They are starting to get very confident now and when they get turned out, they gallop round the field flat out and on firm ground can injure themselves, especially their young bones. A good morning work wise, with everything having a healthy heart pumping exercise and so far so good.

Unfortunately, due to a change in the going at Yarmouth, Blue Bounty will not run this evening.

We have been very busy up at Garrowby over the last month, getting everything sorted out for the move back to Dullingham. In fact I don’t know how Angie has done it. They have had several horsebox loads of furniture and machinery backwards and forwards, plus replacing chewed fencing and tidying everything up as you would want to leave it. They have done a fantastic job. We are now just left with the horses to move, which will be done in batches this month, plus a few pieces of machinery to go to the sales, and a big skip of rubbish. I am really looking forward to having the horses back nearer home as it will certainly save us hours of travelling.
