The cold is on the way, or so they say

It’s still mild but the cold is on the way, or so I am told. We have been all over the heath this morning, Bury Side, having two canters with each lot. The heath was relatively quiet so we could go where we wanted without any interference.  Even the tractor harrowing the gallops didn’t jump in front of us, which usually drives me to distraction, in fact a very happy morning.

I must apologies here as it is the first time, for as long as we have been doing the site, we didn’t mention our runners for the day. It was very busy in the office when I was doing the site and I had several things going through my mind and being asked questions and it just slipped through without mentioning Topamichi. I realised this when sitting at Kempton talking to one of the partners of the horse. He wondered if it was a deliberate ploy on my part to keep the price up. He should be so lucky. If we are remiss again, which I hope we never are, send an email in as quickly as possible so we can correct the mistake. Topamichi must have known as he ran a really good race, being given a very good ride by Harry Bentley and looks like his turn is very near, especially if the rain comes and he gets his favourite soft surface.

Our maintenance man, Ryan                                         The fencing is coming on

Our fencing continues apace at the stud, with the machine working like a dream. It is very hard ground but the posts are going in well. I am sure they will never move, as the whacker puts them down in a very firm way. It is a good job we have got this machine, as to dig them by hand we would be been there until this time next year. It will give us more flexibility and this field, as well as having a field shelter, has plenty of tree cover around the boundaries.
