Grey skies over Newmarket

Toparali (Yaz) in the indoor school

It's cooler this morning with showers forecast for most of the day. At least we have not had it wet so far and but I doubt that we shall miss the rain completely looking at the sky. We have been cantering on Bury Side as normal and everything so far has gone well.

The Breeders'  Cup over the weekend was its normal exciting two days with plenty of European runners, one winner and many good performances. The French had their usual winner with Karakontie taking the Breeders' Mile, and the Classic lived up to its name with a great three way finish. All in all it was a good meeting and for anybody watching on television it was certainly run at the most attractive racecourse in the States. I think the course will be holding the meeting again in 2016 and if anybody likes the idea of going they should be booking now. We don't have time to blink as it's the Melbourne Cup tomorrow with plenty of European interest. It comes thick and fast at this time of year and the top jockeys certainly clock up plenty of air miles.

The horses are just making sure Steve doesn't miss a bit

Our two runners at Newmarket both ran well with Toptempo in the prize money finishing fifth on Friday, and Comrade Bond far from disgraced on ground that was drying up fast enough for him on Saturday. We had some good news for the stud at the weekend when Little Tinka, who is out of Tenpence, won in Spain in very genuine fashion.
