Good luck in Hong Kong

Friday, 12 December 2014

"You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present."

Jan Glidewell.

Hold Firm (Reece)

Another dark morning and I think the rain was even heavier today. Unfortunately we were caught up in one of the worst downpours coming back first lot. We had just done some faster work on Long Hill polytrack and all had gone well.

Topamichi (Ali) runs today

We have one runner today at Doncaster in the 12.45 the maiden hurdle. Topamichi makes his debut over hurdles with Jamie Moore taking the ride. He's schooled very well and will improve considerably for the outing but I am hopeful if getting a clear round that he will run well. We have a few more to run this winter under National Hunt rules and I am looking forward to getting them out in the near future.

Astromajor (Abbie)

It's the big meeting in Hong Kong this weekend with plenty of representatives from this side of the world. As always the draw plays a important part in these Hong Kong races as a good break and track position are a must. They race very tightly and there is no room for jockey error, if you are not in the right position it is very hard to win. Good wishes go to all our European runners and let's hope they bring back plenty of Hong Kong dollars.

Humphry Repton (Yaz)

I see the French trainers are threatening to take action at today's Deauville meeting. They are in dispute with French Galop over prize money matters. At least French trainers stand up and are counted together, unlike our NTF who never seem to have enough influence to muster universal support.
