A warmish, close morning

A warmish, close morning, and we had another good shower yesterday afternoon. These few days of consistent light rain have certainly done the grass good, as everywhere is now much greener and most of the grass gallops are usable.

We have just had an easy day today with a canter and a pick of grass with most of the horses. I did take Astrolibra and Captain Clint up to the schooling grounds and gave them a pop over the hurdles. Astrolibra runs tomorrow at Stratford, so it was just a refresher for her. However Captain Clint, who had never seen them before, took to it all like a duck to water and, after one more session, should be ready to run over hurdles.

One runner today at Yarmouth - Kathleen Francis runs in the 5.35pm. She won quite nicely there last time and I am hopeful that she can follow up today. Her mother was a very consistent filly, and I think she may be a similar type.  We are delighted with her as she is the first foal and has got the mare off to a great start.
