No Rules (Iain) and Akula (Darryll Holland) getting their orders

According to legend, one day a man was wandering in the desert when he met Fear and Plague. They said they were on their way to a large city where they were going to kill 10,000 people. The man asked Plague if he was going to do all the work. Plague smiled and said, ''No, I'll only take care of a few hundred. I'll let my friend Fear do the rest.''

A lovely, bright, sunny morning after a day of really good showers and the ground was in perfect condition. We took first lot across to Racecourse Side and worked them across the Flat - a bit of excitement with a loose one, who was caught by the Gallops' Foreman, as it proceeded towards Newmarket High Street but no harm done to man nor beast and at least we know it can gallop! All moved smoothly on perfect ground.

One runner today at Yarmouth, Astrodonna, who runs in the first race, the mile handicap at 2.30 pm. We have mentioned before that she likes Yarmouth and she always seems to run reasonably well here; she has also gradually been slipping down the handicap and, hopefully, she can run with credit again.

I must correct myself from yesterday, as have the Racing Post, who incorrectly stated that William Derby had stepped down from being Clerk of the Course at York. In fact, William is to remain in both positions he now holds but will be gaining a new assistant in Anthea Morshead. I am sure they will work very well in tandem.
