Sylvestre de Sousa is doing so well ...

A mild day

"A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you just the way you are."

It's a mild morning with absolutely no wind whatsoever and we have been busy on Racecourse Side with all the horses. We have been doing different exercises with them and so far so good. I wish I could say that about our telephone and computer system as although we have phone lines the internet has yet to be turned on and my computer refuses to work. After everything going smoothly and me keeping very calm, it's now starting to get me annoyed.

Prayer Time

It's the start of the Doncaster St.Leger Festival today with the Legends race being the highlight. Tony McCoy is taking part and will be a great crowd puller. The race is in aid of Jack Berry House which has recently been completed in Moulton. All the retired jockeys enjoy this day although there'll certainly be some of them who will be retiring from taking part next year as they realise they are past it! People don't understand just how fit jockeys have to be and I would say they are some of the fittest sports people of today.

The yard work continues as normal

I read in the Racing Post that Matthew Camacho has been made Bloodstock Director of the Racing Post which is a fantastic appointment. He has a great pedigree being the son of ex-trainer Maurice and brother to Julie who trains nowadays. He is a very clear thinker and highly intelligent. I know he will have plenty of new ideas and innovations and I'm sure he will enjoy being away from his city job and involved in racing.
