They are not children ...

It's still very mild

"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it."

It's still very warm, at least twelve degrees, but no rain and very little breeze. It's already been a hectic morning with a few horses schooling and the rest using various canters on Racecourse Side. All has gone reasonably well.

Our two runners yesterday performed quite well. Topamichi's draw was very much against him so we had to use some speed early to get a position which meant at the business end of the race, he was just keeping on at one pace. He will be running over hurdles from now on. Blue Bounty ran a sound race to finish fifth and it looks as though 6 furlongs around Kempton will be his ideal.

Bob has settled in to the new yard well

The new team is now in place with the assistant trainer, head lad and travelling lad, so  I am starting to have my regular senior staff meetings today. Everybody will understand what is required, and their enthusiasm, willingness to learn and listen, and good work ethic will set a great example to the whole unit. If we are organised everything will run smoothly. I am delighted with the new personnel and let's hope success will surely follow.
