It’s a grey overcast morning and I am not sure whether we will get any showers as it is blowing through pretty quickly. It is just a normal day cantering wise as we have done plenty of work lately. All the horses are fit and well and just need a good blow before they run. Keeping them fresh and happy is the order from now onwards.

Taking a turn before heading back to the yard

Heavensfield ran a sound enough race last night. She was a bit keen early on, but soon settled. I think the track was not really to her liking as she became very unbalanced on the undulations. She stayed on very well in the last furlong and is sure to win races this term.

We have one runner today at Wolverhampton. Astrosecret runs in the one mile two furlong maiden at 5.25. She has run well in her last two races and I think we will see the same today. There are one or two in here who have still got huge potential, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she ran a very good race if handling this tapeta surface.

Kieren Fallon has called time on his riding career. He has been a top class jockey who’s record stands up to scrutiny. With three Derbys, four Oaks, five 2000 Guineas and four 1000 Guineas winners he has been a brilliant jockey. Six times champion, I think he could have won many more titles if other things hadn’t got in his way. He was an instinctive horseman, who could lift horses to the winning line and there are many that would never had won without his assistance. I wish him well in the future and thank him for all he did for the sport.
