They are not children ...

We are off to Nottingham today with one runner

Peeps and Sandwood Bay

It’s a perfect morning, hazy blue sky, a nice temperature and no wind. All the horses have been cantering on the polytracks and doing two good healthy canters. All has gone well so far.

Gee Sixty Six

Time Down Under had his third run last night at Leicester. It was an above average maiden once again and he will need a mile at least as he gets older. He now will be handicapped and I will be giving him the gelding operation as soon as possible. A one mile nursery in the autumn should be right up his street.

We have one runner today. Regal Galaxy runs in the two mile handicap at Nottingham in the 5.45. Although it is a small field, this looks quite competitive, but I am sure she will run with credit. I hope she stays this far and will be given every chance to get the trip.

What a fantastic race for the Sussex Stakes yesterday at Goodwood. With three classic winners, it was a most marvellous finish, which should have thrilled any racing fan. I know the prize money was bumped up again this year to £1 million, but it was a race that will be shown and shown again. A great race, in a perfect setting. What an advertisement for our industry.

Congratulations to Conrad and Beryl Lockey on their 60th wedding anniversary today. It is a fantastic achievement and we hope they have a very happy day.
