Sweeping Beauty looks useful

Roof Garden

Apologies for the late post as our internet has crashed

It's the first proper wet morning we have had this autumn. It must have started raining at 10 o'clock last night and it is forecast to go on all day today. There is no wind which is a good thing. We have been cantering on Hamilton Hill polytrack, which is close by and means we can get two good canters into the horses and then come home without getting too wet. Our new yard men are both working hard and look good additions.

Rum Ration

I was delighted with Sweeping Beauty yesterday when she finished second at Huntingdon. She will improve considerably for the experience and looks like being quite useful under this code. I thought she would have run well the day she was withdrawn at Lingfield, and my faith in her has been vindicated. I shall give her a couple of weeks before going again. There are one or two fillies only bumpers which will be ideal.

Four Fifty Three

I see William Hill is set to be named as the sponsor for the new ITV coverage. They are taking over from Dubai who was the sponsor for Channel 4. It will be interesting to see what happens if the government does ban gambling advertising before the 9pm watershed, although the BHA have said they will call for an exemption. It is a bit disappointing that we have a non ABP become sponsor for the main coverage on TV and it would have been much better if the television company had found somebody else. It is bad enough having adverts about betting forever pushed down our throats, now we are going to have them constantly.
