The yearlings are on the walker

It’s a dry morning but the temperature has certainly dropped and looks like going further down for the next few days. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday which will have made the turf canters perfect. We have kept to the all-weathers once again and everything has gone smoothly this morning.

Hold Firm being given a pick of grass

We have one runner tonight at Chelmsford City. Bracken Brae runs in the 1m 5f handicap at 8 o’clock. She is a course and distance winner here, but has been off the track for 217 days. She has done plenty of work and I expect her to run well tonight. This race will put her cherry ripe for the future. Stevie Donohoe takes the ride.

Stables are cleaned out, now to empty the barrow

The weanlings at the stud have all settle into their new paddocks well on the Deer Park side of the stud, which has got plenty of good grass and shelter. We will be having foals on the ground before we know it. In fact it is only a couple of months away. How life flies.
