They are not children ...

Still two mares to foal at the stud

"Life is the sum of all your choices."

Albert Camus.

It’s a still morning and the temperature is not too bad. With no breeze, I am hoping that it will stay like this all week, but the forecast is for it to get much colder, with even snow showers in Scotland and the north. There is still no sign of rain either, which is disappointing as the paddocks could do with a good drenching. We have had a good morning cantering with the horses, with quite a good complement of riders and apart from the odd blip, things have been going smoothly.

It looks like we will have a couple of runners this week, one tomorrow and possibly one at the weekend on the turf. The horses are getting over the few spots they had and they are definitely eating very well. I still need a feeder and if you know of anybody, please send them down. It would be ideal for somebody who has taken early retirement and just wants a part time job, but the main attribute is reliability.  It seems to have disappeared from the young nowadays and it needs to get back or else everybody will be on permanent holiday.

Indian Red

We still have two mares to foal at the stud. Topatoo, who will be visiting Bated Breath this year, is now overdue. I am delighted with her two-year-old colt in training, Topapinion (by So You Think) who is as good a mover as you will ever see, strong and scopy, he could be one to follow for the future and Astrodiva, who is due to Sir Percy. Her two-year-old colt, TTMAB (by Mawatheeq) is another that is outstanding. He is a big black colt with plenty of character. He is another very good mover and it looks like we may have a good bunch of youngster this year. I still have one or two for sale, either wholly or in syndicates. Take a look at the website.

We are also trying to find sponsors for a wide variety of item in the yard including the website, which is getting over 80,000 hits a month. Thank you to everybody who reads it. The horseboxes, the exercise sheets and rugs, the yellow reflective jackets, the rider’s jackets are amongst many other sponsors opportunities. We are very competitively priced and would love to hear from anybody who is interested.
