All smiles after yesterday

Yesterday's conquering hero

A great day yesterday and I am absolutely thrilled for everybody concerned, particularly 'The False Nose 'n' Glasses' partnership, Steve, Gary and Gerry; the celebrations were marvelous and if 'Racing for Change' were watching, there is absolutely nothing that needs changing. Congratulations to Pollards Stables, Dena and Leslie, who are the breeders and have had Highbrook for many years. I must give Angie a great mention here, as she runs the stud side of the operation and there is so much that goes on behind the scenes with the foalings and rearing of the young stock; so, it is a great well-done to all the staff, who work at Dullingham and Garrowby.

Ted was given a marvellous ride by Daryll and can only improve for it, he came home last night and ate up well over night, he will just have a lead-out and a pick of grass today and go for a light exercise tomorrow. I do not know the value of the form yesterday but he could only win as he did and, if the ground is suitable, we will be letting him take his chance in the Derby. The one thing we do know is that he will stay the trip and then, hopefully, I will be going down the Voltigeur, St. Leger route.

The gallopers on the Peat Moss

We took a bunch of horses over to Racecourse Side first lot to work on the Peat Moss on what has been another chilly morning. There has been a real buzz in the yard this morning with a nice winner like yesterday's, giving everyone a spring in their step. We have had lots of nice phone calls and e-mails of congratulations, which have all been fantastic.
