It's a very muggy day

We have high cloud this morning mixed with blue sky. There is the threat of thunderstorms throughout the day. It's very warm and muggy but the breeze is keeping it a sensible working temperature. I have had Joey Haynes and Gabriele Malune in for the first two lots and we have been galloping on the Peat Moss on Racecourse Side. All has gone well.

Another article in the series today with a lad going racing at Brighton. The reporter with him explained all the intricacies of the sport but I don't think he is typical of the young racegoer today. I see that Michael Gove, the new man in charge of the environment, was commenting on the export of live animals over the sea. This would include horses. However he added "It will still be the case that people will want a prize racehorse to move from one country to another".  At least he is thinking about it and let's hope the BHA, or whichever committee or group deals with this issue, meet him and can explain what has been going on for years in the racing world.
