On the way to the Rubbing House Polytrack

It’s much colder this morning. In fact I put the heaters on in the offices first thing, which is something I haven’t done for a while. There is a cold wind, as well as quite wet rain and the horses will have to have their big rugs on from now on, or their coats will soon be going and the clippers will be coming out. The flag was up this morning with everybody in and we have been cantering on the Rubbing House Polytrack and Hamilton Hill. All has gone well so far.

Indian Red

Gee Sixty Six didn’t run too badly last night, but I think he just needed the run. The one good thing was he settled well, and once in a lower grade, he will soon be winning. He will also jump hurdles as he has size and scope and we have already popped him over a few logs to give him the idea. It looks like we may have one or two horses to hurdle this winter and we will be starting to get on with them during the next month.

Steam cleaning the horse boxes

Both boxes were steamed cleaned first thing today in preparation for moving in foal mares about, which is happening this morning. We have at present several bits of land that we use to keep all the stud stock on and Angie will be sorting them out into their winter paddocks. It is a never ending cycle of foaling, weaning, yearlings, but it all works brilliantly well and everybody on the stud does a tremendous job.
