The turf season is just around the corner ...

We have one runner today at Lingfield

"Dreams are only thoughts you didn’t have time to think about during the day."

Cantering up Hamilton Hill

It’s a very similar day to yesterday, mild, no wind and although we are a bit short on the ground this morning staff wise, everybody has pulled together really well and the horses are getting a good exercise. We have had help from the stud for mucking out and Tom Brown, the jockey, has been riding out as well.

We have one runner today at Lingfield, where Astroshadow runs in the two mile handicap at 3.05. After her good run at Beverley, I tried her on the fibresand at Southwell where she hated every minute of it. I would hope she would feel more at home on this polytrack surface today and if she can get into a reasonable position from her draw, we could see her run well once again.

Below are two photos from Saturday’s commentary competition, which showed I did actually take part, and although I couldn’t talk about every horse, I tried to make it interesting with comments on the runners. We have only got this week left for the Just Giving page and you can also donate by text, so thank you for everybody who has given and thanking those in advance for doing so. This is the last time I will mention it.

I agree entirely with Alastair Down in the article today where he says that racing should cut out the unnecessary Twitter spats which have gone on between a certain trainer and the Professional Jockey’s Association. It is so easy to fire off these social media items and I am sure a lot of people don’t think before they do so. Alastair’s theme is to cut it out and not waste energy on undignified squabbling.
