Dictate (Dan) and Colzium (Wajid)

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count.  It's the life in your years."

Cotton Grass (Hannah), Battery Power (Colin) and Five Hearts (Zeeshan)

After a wet night and the stormy winds of yesterday, there is not a breath of wind today but the sky is full of dark, threatening clouds and it is still very mild. First and second lots have been having two canters up Warren Hill with the yearlings trotting in the indoor ride.

Astrodiva ran respectably yesterday to be only beaten just over four lengths but she looked like she wants a longer trip on this all-weather surface. She lacked a turn of foot, when it was needed and I shall be stepping her up to, at least, a mile and an half for her next start.

Having steam-cleaned and disinfected all the boxes, Ryan is now working his way round with a paint brush and roller in preparation for the return of the horses from their holiday in Garrowby.

The jockeys' championship looks like going right to the wire but Richard Hughes is still two behind and he is going to need a bit of luck, if he is to overtake Paul Hanagan. Both have a full card of rides at Doncaster tomorrow but Richard Hughes only has three rides today, compared to Paul Hanagan's eleven, so everything could be decided by the end of today. Either way, we wish them both the best of luck, as it has been an epic duel and both combatants have conducted themselves impeccably.
