A very bright,clear, sunny morning

Miss Wendy (Hannah), Astrodiva (Dan) and Astrovenus (Wajid)

A very bright, clear, sunny morning but very much on the cold side again. A normal cantering morning with everything on Warren Hill and we have got even more of the yearlings being ridden around the indoor school. They are all going really well.

Smokey Oakey (Zeeshan) and Mystery Star (Nikki)

Another good day yesterday at Southwell with both the two year olds running well in the first, to be fourth and sixth. I will be giving Dictate one more run in around three weeks time, possibly over further and Colzium, who will now be cut, will make into a lovely, staying three old. Watch Chain was given a good ride by Michael Hills, who rode exactly to instructions. It looks like he may get a little bit further in time but he seems to like that fibresand (that is his second win there) and we will be going back there with him also. He was going to be cut after yesterday but has got a reprieve for the time being.
I know everything looks better when you have had a winner and Southwell, as we have already said, is not the most picturesque of racecourses but many other courses could learn from their catering. Especially, 'The Pantry', which is just inside the entry gate, produces very good home-cooked food - perfect for everyday racegoers - so a big star goes to the ladies involved.
