First lot arrives at the bottom of Long Hill

Mystery Star (Nikki) has his last canter before his race at Wolverhampton tomorrow

A clear, bright morning but quite cold and at least we didn't get the rain they had in Cornwall - poor things. It must be one of the worst experiences having your house or business flooded. Just a normal morning with canterers and yearlings, continuing their usual routine.

Finger Spin (Wajid)

There was a gathering of trainers and heathmen this morning on Warren Hill along with the Rev. Graham Locking. All the talk was about the tragic accident yesterday, which resulted in one of John Berry's riders losing his life. Everybody sends their deepest condolences to his family. It just goes to show you can never be too careful when working with horses in any capacity, as if they want to do something there is nothing anybody can do to stop them. It is a great credit to the whole industry in Britain with the number of horses in training that we have so few incidents like this.

Colin leads the string home on Akula

I don't know if any of you watched England play France last night but once again a European team gave us a lesson in how to play. We hardly got a kick and, I am afraid, we need a completely radical re-structure of the whole game in England or we will never be a force again.
