Monday morning - No Neil

Monday, 14 March 2011

No Neil this morning, as he has phoned in with the dreaded bug. So, although I have been taking pictures madly, we cannot upload them today as Angie and I do not possess the technical know- how to do so.

A glorious morning though, and all the horses look pictures in the spring sunshine. We have been on one of our long treks to Railway Land at first lot and after breakfast have been cantering up Warren Hill grass, which is in perfect condition after a drop of rain on Sunday morning.

This week heralds the start of the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival and as usual Phil and I will be having our annual tipping competition which normally finds a few winners. As you know we shall be running Akula on Wednesday, in the Fred Winter, and I have to report I am delighted with him.

There is plenty to talk about, especially with some of the headlines in the Racing Post this morning, but we shall leave that until tomorrow.

Another foal arrived at Dullingham on Saturday, a lovely chestnut colt by Observatory out of Nice Time. This was her first foal and she took to motherhood very well - pictures to follow during the week.

I apologise for the short news today, but we shall make up for it during the week.
