Another glorious, sunny morning...

First lot coming up Waren Hill

Another glorious, sunny morning and now I really am starting to sound like a farmer, as we are desperate for some rain. It was the driest March for a long time and I am just hoping that April will hold true with plenty of showers. The yard has had a lot of visitors this morning, including Clare and her husband, Giles. For those of you, who know Clare, they will be delighted to hear that she is expecting a baby in August. We have just been doing one good canter with the horses and then picking grass for ten minutes in the sunshine.

Battery Power (Lauren)

The last day of the Aintree tipping competition and, as you can see from the figures, I am still in front. All the stops will be being pulled out today to remain there. If you had followed our tips yesterday, there were plenty of very near misses and, if I say it myself, we have done pretty well so far. It is the National today and I was born on Grand National day, so it has been one of my ambitions to have a runner in it. So far, I have not had many chasers but The Moor and Brabazon were the only two horses I thought may make it but both had problems along the way. Good luck to everybody taking part today - it will fill many ambitions for the connections.

Second lot make their way onto Long Hill polytrack

Everybody is very disappointed that the two trainers have decided to run at Lingfield this afternoon. Arena Leisure, the owners of the track, have shown no desire to address the tariff problem and we should be steadfast in our support of the Horsemen's Group, who are working on everybody's behalf. There is always one, or two in this instance, who don't think with their brains.
