“Do your little bit of good where you are; its those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

A nice, bright morning with no wind, which makes it a very pleasant day. We had only a couple of good, sharp showers yesterday, which has not really got into the ground; consequently nobody has cantered on Warren Hill grass yet. Both hills were very busy first lot and our horses did a couple of canters with the second one being a bit sharper to clear the pipes, especially for the runners this weekend.

Another second yesterday, Kathleen Frances, at Carlisle in the Cumberland Plate. She ran a cracking race against a very in-form rival and she is destined for a good season. We have had a very frustrating run of seconds of late but the horses are in great form and our luck will change shortly.

Three runners today, one at Warwick this afternoon at two at Leicester tonight. Astromagick runs in the 5.15 pm race at Warwick, which is the first time in a handicap for her. She has taken time to come to herself this spring but showed me her well-being in a gallop last week and I would expect her to perform with credit this afternoon. We shall find out more about her trip and ground preference today.
Tonight at Leicester, Izzet runs in the 7.40 pm race. He ran with credit to be second on his first outing of the year at Yarmouth and must have a chance tonight, if handling the track. Astrodiva is our last runner at 8.40 pm; she was just beaten over hurdles when we last saw her on the track and is capable of getting involved tonight, if putting her best foot forward.
