A glorious morning, once again with clear blue sky and a high temperature; the only thing that is keeping it bearable is a good breeze. We have been on the watered gallop on Racecourse Side and I also sent a couple down to work on the Al Bahathri on Railway Land with all going smoothly and the horses continuing to look very well.

One runner today at Pontefract, Star Commander, in the maiden over a mile and an half at 5.00 pm. He has the Hamdan al Maktoum horse to beat, which has sound form and there are a couple of well-bred newcomers lurking in the background, which could be anything but I am very hopeful of a good run today.

The swimming pool has been in constant use this spring/ summer and everything, other than the odd one who hates it, has a swim through at night. We have a conveyor belt of staff bringing them over, while the others put the beds straight, hay, water and feed; it all works like clockwork and the horses really enjoy their swim.
