It's Champions weekend ...

A very warm and muggy morning...

A very warm and muggy morning. I don't think it was forecast to be as hot as this but maybe we will get lucky and some of the rain will pass over Newmarket. All the horses have been cantering on Warren Hill this morning and all went well. We look like having a busy week with runners, particularly if the ground goes our way, as I have horses entered from Brighton to Hamilton in Great Britain and also at Longchamp.

The racing at the weekend has caused quite a stir within the racing industry with the clerk of the course at Chester having a dig at Newmarket for changing the July Cup date. Chester attracted a crowd of over 36,000, York of over 40,000 and Ascot of over 14,000, whereas Newmarket only attracted 10,736. It seems to me that he has a point and something needs to be sorted out before next year.
