Another dullish morning but we have had no rain. There is a big swirl of blue on the forecaster's chart, which is poised to come over us but, no doubt, it won't get as far as Newmarket. We have had our normal busy morning with horses going off to Scotland for tomorrow and everything else having a good exercise.

Ted Spread runs tonight in France at Longchamp. It is Bastille Day in France and they have a very good card there this evening. He has travelled over well and the ground is on the soft side of 'good', which is the ground I think he prefers. It will be very interesting to see how the race is run but I believe I have him in good form. He is much better for his castration and long break and I feel that he ran his best race ever last time, so we are hopeful of, at least, getting a few Euros tonight. Also, Olivier Peslier rides and he knows every inch of that track

Battery Power certainly ran below par last night and whether it was the ground, which was on the firm side or the trip, which she is bred to get, we shall find out more when I run her again on more suitable going.
