We are certainly in the midst of another heatwave, making it an uncomfortable, muggy sort of day. Thank goodness we have the equine pool, which will be in full use for most of the day, especially tonight during evening stables, when everything will get a dip and feel much better for it.

Glorious Goodwood lived up to its name with a week of brilliant racing. The crowds were massive every day but the one thing Goodwood does have is plenty of areas where everybody can sit down and the organisation works like clockwork. Mystery Star ran a very sound race and would certainly have been in the first four, had the incident that occured, not hampered him. He was very lucky not to have been involved and everybody here sends their best wishes to Ryan Moore on as speedy a recovery as possible. It was much too firm for Kathleen Frances but all Russell Trew's guests had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend.

My highlight of Goodwood's week would, obviously, be Frankel and Midday but Saturday's victory for Hoof it under top weight in the Stewards' Cup was outstanding.
