Horse welfare is paramount ...

Cloudy and mild

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Abraham Lincoln.

On the Rocks (with cheerful Abbie)

A mild morning with a high cloud cover but the good thing about it that there is very little wind. Just a normal weekend morning with winter exercise with the horses, a few visitors and everybody in good form.

Jennifer J who runs today

One runner today, Jennifer J runs at Lingfield in the 12.10. She has had one previous outing also at this track, where she took time to understand what was going on, but she will have learnt something from it. A bad draw here doesn't help and it maybe that this will just become a learning curve once again.

Marsh Dragon

I have updated the Horses for Sale of the site today, and hope that some of you may be tempted to have a look and see if any take your fancy. You are very welcome to come and visit the yard at any time and see them for yourselves in the flesh. Both the fillies, pictured above and below, are two year olds types and look like being able to run in the early part of the turf season.

The two three year olds for sale are lovely horses. Like Clockwork (see picture below) is very well handicapped, will stay a mile and a half and looks sure to have a good season. Joe the Coat (see details on Horses for Sale page) although not being forward enough to run at two, showed me plenty of ability in a couple of gallops he did and I hold out great hopes for him this year.

Like Clockwork

I took the picture below yesterday morning which shows the weathervane at Exeter Ride and the one on St Mary's church in the background. Both are working as they are pointing the same way - spot that the clock is wrong as it was about 8.30am when I took the shot. In fact this clock has driven me barmy as after much investigation we still cannot find where the electric wiring, which runs it, starts!
