O/S - Barwick brings up Zenarinda

It was a damp night and it has really thrown it down here this morning. Both first and second lot got soaked through, and there were many changes of coats and leggings between lots. We have been cantering on Warren and Long Hills and the gallops have once again been reasonably quiet. There are still quite a few visitors over here from Australia on there way to see Black Caviar run at Ascot on Saturday. I think the tour operators have taken in Newmarket as being a great place to visit and for showing people how it should be done.

We had been hoping to run Rayvin Black at Ripon today, but have been plagued with foot problems. We had a real job to get some shoes on him yesterday which meant he was a bit feely in his front feet, and because of this we just can not run him today. He has been out and had a gentle canter this morning though, and they are starting to wear onto his feet. It drives me barmy as he would have had a great chance today, but hopefully I can find him a race in the next ten days.

It was another great day at Royal Ascot yesterday with So You Think really starting to show his worth. Aiden O’Brien openly admitted that he has only just learnt how to train him properly and not to do too much work with him. He was very impressive yesterday, and must make a great sire when he retires this year, firstly to stand in Australia and then shuttle back here to Coolmore.  I was glad to see Aiden had let his mane and forelock grow to the length the horse likes it. I know how proud his breeder Mike Moran will be at this time and I am sure he will have let everybody know all about it. Well done Mike, and all the team at Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand.

The Guv'nor is steaming ahead in our Royal Ascot tipping competition. A couple of winners yesterday boosted his profit on the first two days to £89 to £10 level stake. I (Phil) had a black day and sank to minus £64.
