''Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.''

- Herman Cain

A warmish day with high cloud and after yesterday's busy work morning, it is lovely to calm it down and have an easy exercise with a relaxing pick of grass afterwards. Horseboxes have been leaving the yard since first light and we have got a busy few day's on the racing front.

Four runners today, starting this afternoon at Yarmouth and Beverley and then this evening at Kempton. At Yarmouth, we run Fasette in the mile and one furlong race, she is drawn well and the ground will suit her much better than last time. This will be her first run around a bend and, as she is a long filly, it will be interesting to see how she takes it; she has the ability to get very involved in this and I will be disappointed if she does not. Watch Chain runs in the sprint and I have fitted blinkers, just to make him concentrate; he is another, who has the ability to get involved and if putting his best foot forward must get involved in the finish today. We would not want any more rain for him though.

Miss Wendy runs in the mile and an half handicap at Beverley and Pat Cosgrove rides. She has a very bad draw and this is very much against her, as there will be a mad dash for the first bend and then they will slow it up going down the back straight. This means that she will be in a poor position most of the time, saying that she will stay the trip and like the ground but Pat will have to get very lucky in the straight, if she is to get involved today.

Finally, tonight we run Comrade Bond at Kempton and he is another that has the world's worst draw - we seem to be getting a spate of these at the moment. He has run reasonably well twice and I think the race at York that he ran in, will give us the winner of the Coventry at Royal Ascot next week. This is a much weaker affair and, I am sure, that if Ted Durcan can get him in the right position, he will run well.
